Crandall's extensive experience in water treatment ranges from sand filtration to UV disinfection to ultra-pure reverse osmosis and ion exchange water treatment. The firm's wastewater treatment experience includes the design and contract administration of a number of aerated and non-aerated sewage lagoons, mechanical treatment plants, engineered wetlands and others.

Crandall carefully evaluates treatment objectives in order to select the most appropriate and cost effective system. Factors such as life-cycle costs and sensitivity to power rates, as well as land requirements, expansion potential and aesthetics, are considered.

Projects include major upgrading of water and wastewater plants for the municipalities of the City of Saint John, Shediac, Scoudouc Industrial Park, the Village of Port Elgin and others. The firm has also completed potable water treatment plant design for several municipalities and ultra-pure process water treatment plants for applications such as the 400 MW Millbank generating station for NB Power. The firm has provided its wastewater treatment design expertise to many communities in New Brunswick, as well as several  municipalities in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
