Tom Higgins, P.Eng. - Branch Manager, Saint John, N.B.

Tom joined Crandall Engineering in March, 2005, to coordinate and develop the firms operations in Saint John and the south east portion of New Brunswick. Tom has gained extensive experience in the public and private sectors and has been associated with several high profile projects from commercial and industrial building construction to provincial and municipal engineering projects. His municipal and civil engineering experience includes the design and supervision of subdivision developments, various water and sewer main projects, Fluoridation treatment plants and Operations Engineer while employed with the City of Saint John. Tom also was recently involved with the design and management of the Maintenance Operations of the MRDC-Fredericton to Moncton Highway Project. Tom will be assisting in developing Crandall Engineering's services with existing and new clients in the south east region of the Province from our Saint John Office location.

Julien Babin, P.Eng
Julien graduated in civil engineering in 2001 from Université de Moncton. Upon graduation, he worked with an engineering consultant in the United States. In February, 2003, he joined Crandall Engineering and has since gained experience in a wide range of engineering projects, including a large municipal sub-division development for the Fox Creek Golf Community in Dieppe, NB, sanitary sewer system designs in Shediac, Moncton and Dieppe NB, highway design projects for NBDOT and Irving Oil Limited and many other civil projects. Julien is thoroughly familiar with various design software such as Haestad’s SewerCAD and StormCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D. He currently heads the firms’ software development committee.

Pierre Plourde , P.Eng
Pierre joined the firm in 2004 following graduation in civil engineering at Université de Moncton. He is developing his skills on numerous projects such as the Caledonia Industrial Estates development project and the Village de Memramcook water and wastewater improvements. Pierre was the project engineer for the recently completed water treatment plant in Memramcook and is presently assigned to the large expansion of the community’s wastewater collection and treatment system. Pierre has also received training on Haestad’s StormCAD software and has been involved on several storm water and sanitary sewer modeling projects.

Mike Rogers, P. Eng.
Mike graduated at UNB in civil engineering in 1999. Since graduation, he worked with a industrial works contractor in Saint John, NB and then joined Crandall in 2005. In August, 2005, Mike became a Professional Engineer. Since joining Crandall Engineering he has gained extensive experience in a wide range of municipal engineering projects, including municipal street upgrades, a water storage reservoir, and a major water main installation project all in Saint John. At present Mike is the project engineer assigned to the water main renewal and street upgrade project for Manawagonish Road in Saint John.

Janelle Vautour, MIT
Janelle joined the firm in 2006 following graduation in civil engineering at Université de Moncton. Prior to that she worked as a Co-op student for a 4 month work term with Crandall. Janelle is gaining valuable experience every day in the design and management of a variety of projects. At present she is the project engineer for a large wastewater collection system in Cap Bimet, NB for the Greater Shediac Sewerage Commission. She is demonstrating excellent skills in project management and Client care.

 

Andrew Melanson, MIT
Andrew graduated in civil engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 2005 and joined Crandall Engineering in 2006. He has prior experience in materials testing and municipal infrastructure installations. Andrew is currently assigned as resident engineer on a large roadway project in Saint John. He is gaining extensive experience in the use of total station survey equipment, large and complex culvert installations, municipal water and wastewater installations and roadway construction. Andrew’s growing versatility will be an important asset for the firm especially in the Saint John region. He has recently completed CAD training in MicroStation which will further add to his versatility.

Stephane Savoie, MIT
Stéphane graduated in mechanical engineering from the Université de Moncton in 2004 and joined Crandall Engineering in 2006. He has gained extensive experience in the inspection and quality assurance of several large municipal infrastructure projects including the recently completed water system upgrade in Saint Antoine, NB and the on-going sanitary sewer installation in Cap Bimet, NB. Stephane is presently being trained in the design of wastewater pumping stations with the intent to lead the firm’s mechanical design services for pumping stations in water and wastewater applications.

François Lavigne, MIT
François graduated in civil engineering from Université de Moncton in 2006 and joined Crandall Engineering in 2007. François is currently assigned to the Caledonia Industrial Estates Development Project. He is gaining valuable experience in water and wastewater sewer installation, roadway construction and complex culvert installations.
